Rabban Hormizd Monastery is an important monastery of the Assyrian Church of The East, and the Chaldean Catholic Church, founded about 640 AD by the Assyrian Church of The East, carved out in the mountains about 2 miles from Alqosh, Iraq, 28 miles north of Mosul.

Hatra was an ancient city in Upper Mesopotamia located in present-day eastern Nineveh Governorate in northern Iraq. The ruins of the city lie 290 km northwest of Baghdad and 110 km southwest of Mosul. It is considered the richest archaeological site from the Parthian Empire known to date.
