Thank you Kurdistan ExpeditionsVerifiedTom2024-06-07Erbil, Sulaimaniyyah Tour I went on this tour with Brusk by RockyRoad. Going with an organisation makes things a lot easier, as getting around in the country is not as easy as a european guy could expect. Seeing the places of younger history like Halabja, some scenic waterfalls on the border, Last pieces of the Hamilton Road, Old City of Amadiye, Lalish as the center of the Yesides and other stuff: that makes an intensive week. Be aware, that beer (or wine) is not served in most restaurants. Have to go to a "Glenfiddich" store to get one, but they have good fridges. Yet, the Shahrazad (5%) is good and could succeed in western markets.VerifiedOlly S2024-06-07Kurdistan experience Brilliant, highly recommended, great tour. Well organised and I would definitely recommend it to anyone going to KurdistanVerifiedJoel2024-06-05Amazing Kurdistan is beautiful! If you are interested in Kurdistan history and culture, this is definitely the tour to take. You get to learn what the Kurds have been through in modern history and you also get to meet people that experienced tradegy, but are still alive and live to talk about what they went through. I recommend this tour to people!VerifiedMicah W2024-06-04Journey through Kurdistan My trip to Iraqi Kurdistan with Kurdistan Expeditions was an amazing experience. They took great care of the tour group and showed us some amazing historic places and beautiful vistas! I felt safe with them the entire time!VerifiedTatianaRGijsen2024-05-15Memorable experience ! I went with my mother on a day trip from Erbil to Alqosh, Lalish and Akre. Haval is a very knowledgeable guide and a very kind person. We had an amazing day and an unforgettable experience in Kurdistan. Can't recommend him more and will certainly have him guiding us again next time, to explore more this beautiful land and culture.VerifiedDC C2024-05-13Amazing trip with Balin! A few years ago i was visiting Kurdistan - north Iraq. A wonderful country with troubled history and an unclear future. South Iraq, in my mind, was always connected with military conflicts. I didn't fell sorry for a second that this year i overcame my fear and under the leadership of Balin Zrar i stepped on the land of Gilgamesh! "When you dig in Iraq you can find a few different things - 1.Oil 2.Water 3.Achielogical sites 4.Burial ground" I hope some day after archeological research in Uruk, Ur, Babilon... we can recreate the life of the people there 7000-8000 years ago. I knew a lot about the rivers Tigris and Euphrates, but for the first time i saw them in the south part of Iraq. The Man-dan tribe, modern life, holy shrines, Baghdad... there are a lot of sites to see here! Our travel turned into a paradise thanks to our precious guide Balin. A man with an amazing life story, full of optimism and joy! Would recommend to anyone who would like to visit!VerifiedDayTrip181391217762024-05-08Federal Iraq With a group of nine we spent 7 days in Federal Iraq with Kurdistan expeditions. It is truly an amazing place with ancient history , people and culture but what made it truly a memorable experience was Balin Zrar ,our guide. Balin took care of us like a friend, making us feel comfortable and excited. He is a great guide and is the one you have to experience Iraq with. Very knowledgeable in history and culture, good story teller, excellent sence of humor and at the same time very tactful and polite. We visited all the amazing places in Iraq...from Baghdad, Babylon to Karbala, Najaf, Nasiriyah and Samarra, we ate the most delicious fish at the marsh Arabs. We had the most epic trip and fell in love with Iraq, the people, food, history and culture. I cannot recommend Balin Zrar enough for anyone visiting Iraq. Definitely the best guide. Thank you Balin for this amazing trip.I hope to meet you again soon.

In addition to the "big" sites of historical importance like Shanidar Cave, the Halabja Memorial, and Lalish, we took many small detours into bustling street food districts and waterfall-filled villages. It was an excellent introduction to both the incredibly friendly people and the landscape.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.Katerina Gapova2024-05-24With a group of nine we spent 7 days in Federal Iraq with Kurdistan expeditions. Balin designed an jam-packed plan for us to explore the Northern parts of the region in 3 days. We discovered the hidden secrets that you would never find in guidebooks from ancient aqueducts to fresh falafel. He made it memorable for each of us by paying attention to what each of our interests were and ensuring we made the most of it, which was not an easy task considering all the rain! We truly felt looked after. Thank you Balin for making our holiday so memorable, fingers crossed to another exploration in the South of Iraq!Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.Florian Niedermair2024-03-25An amazing experience, our guide Balin was both competent and amicable and never hesitated to help us when necessary. Perfect organization and a perfect short-term solution finding whenever some plans had to be adjusted due to factors out of our control (mainly weather). Great choice of hotels and restaurants along the way as well as great travel route. Can't recommend it enough.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.Maria Starrs2024-03-21I did the tour of Kurdistan for the Newroz in March 2024. What an amazing experience! We travelled the whole country covering Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, Duhok, Akre, Rawunduz and Lalish. It felt like several holidays in one. In the cities we explored the bazaars and tea houses. In the countryside we navigated the mountains, lakes and caves. I learned so much about Kurdish culture and other communities such as the Yazidis. The Yazidi town of Lalish where you walk barefoot, was incredible. The Newroz celebration in the mountains of Akre was breathtaking. We hiked to the top of the mountain to take part in the preparations, then watch the stunning torchlight procession and firework display from the town. It was like nothing I'd ever experienced. Our guide Balin was the best. He was so knowledgeable and helpful. Anything we needed, he arranged immediately. There wasn't a question he couldn't answer and the programme was arranged so well. As a female solo traveller I felt so safe and people across Kurdistan were so friendly and welcoming. I would definitely come back.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.Christoph Heumann2024-01-07Kurdistan Expeditions means perfection!
